The Who | Happy Jack Jingle / Happy Jack | Thirty Years of Maximum R&B (Disc 1 of 4) | MCA | 1994 | "Happy Jack" appeared on 1966 album "A Quick One" in England and it appeared on the 1967 album entitled "Happy Jack" here in the states (Thanks TDK for the correction!) / More info: "A Quick One" was originally released on ReactionRecords on December 9, 1966. It reached #4 in the U.K. In the U.S. (and presumably Canada) the release was held back until April or May 1967. The album was retitled "Happy Jack" partly because the 'Happy Jack' single had been a minor hit for The Who there and partly because Decca, their U.S. record company objected to the double entendre in the original title. Released as Decca Records in the US, it peaked at #51. "Happy Jack" was the same album as "A Quick One" except 'Heatwave' was replaced by 'Happy Jack'. The initial UK release was mono-only. In several European countries (Germany, Italy, Spain), Polydor released the stereo album "The Who" instead. The LP "The Who" is missing the last 2 tracks recorded for "A Quick One" --'So Sad About Us' and 'A Quick One While He's Away'-- and includes the 4 songs found on EP I'm A Boy (among other places) instead. Stereo and "false stereo" mixes appear in bewildering and inconsistent combinations among the initial stereo releases of these various albums. 'So Sad About Us' was only true stereo in the North American releases. 'Whiskey Man' and 'Don't Look Away' were only in true stereo on European album releases. | 2:51:03 (Pop-up)
ELO | Sweet Talkin' Woman | Out Of The Blue | Jet | 1977 | 7th studio album | 2:53:59 (Pop-up)
