Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from December 16, 2022 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

yes, i will be at Lingua Ignota tonight too -- SINNER BEWARE! (totally psyched -- i have never seen her before!) & glad i was able to listen to Sinners Crossroads last night too!

Red Hook is WAY different now, from when i was looking for an apartment, my last year in college (1980 - 1981) -- got totally lost too!

and in 2000, a friend of mine got married & had her reception at the Maritime Museum (which I think is still there?)

anyhoo -- looks like the B61 bus stops nearby (i will be taking PATH from Hoboken to WTC, then the 4 or 5 to Borough Hall, if that helps anyone with transportation)

I've been to Europe many times, but never the Scandinavian countries. My wife's family is from Tromso Norway - waay up in the Artic almost, so we're planning a trip finally. I really want to rally drive in Finland like Kimi

Haha - Earthquack Records - that's cool you have the original LP. According to the blurb on Bandcamp for the Cuneiform re-issue, this one was their second and final release. The download includes a Quicktime movie of the band performing in 1976!

Most are pretty cool about it, but some Finns are adamant about not being Scandinavian (the language isn't even Indo-European) but Nordic. Tromso must be weird as he'll at this time of year, a city where the sun doesn't rise.

Sam, that's interesting. Helsinki is full of hipsters but I only know of a few here, far more punks and hippies, almost like being in a time warp. It's one thing I really like about the place. It may have to do with the strongly working-class background of the city. Tampere was the center of the Reds in the Civil War right after independence in 1918. There's a monument to the fallen worker soldiers at the top of the hill in Pispala close to my house.

My linguist friends seem to like the designation "Finno-Ugric", and apparently Finnish, Karelian and Sami belong to the Finnic part, and Hungarian and some central Asian languages the Ugric part. At least that's what they tell me, but I'm not a linguist.
