Good morning, Doug! Good morning woofMoo world! And, regrettably, goodbye to Michael Snow who did indeed pass on yesterday. He was a respectably good jazz improviser at the piano, in addition his global influence on contemporary art: With a few kindred spirits, he created The Music Gallery here in Toronto in the 70s, a home for free-form musical expression. Saw a great duet there once with Marshall Allen and Terry Adams of NRBQ. Found my ex-piano teacher there too. Laters, Mike. Be cool.

I have not seen him perform, but I have met him on a couple occasions. There's a de-facto 'group of musicians around here working in areas of 'new music' who all know each other and often attend (ed) each other's performances and/or collaborate. My teacher was one. I used to see James Tenney around quite often. I never 'cozyed' up to any of them, I just met them briefly.

another fun fact about Hall & Oates is that they hate the name Hall & Oates and always insist the band's name is Daryl Hall & John Oates. but no one listens

From memory, Franco, they were in a movie-ticket lineup, and some post-grad wonk was erroneously expounding on McLuhan's media theories to his date, while Alvy Singer rolled his eyes and squirmed, until he could stand it no lnger
