That's the other thing: Van changed so much in styles and material from 1965 to 1969 (and was stable throughout much of the 70s). No release from then is going to be *quite* like another! But I consider Astral Weeks his very best, while generally liking of most of Van's early stuff (pre '72 or so).

Aside-

Since Irwin talks books, I just finished Greg BAD RELIGION Graffin’s memoir, “punk paradox”. Here’s a guide to tour conduct that he was given-

"A Guide to a Good Stabbing!"
or
"A Little Consideration and Common Sense Makes Everyone's Life Enjoyable"

1. Each person is responsible for the payment of their own hotel extras. Repeated non-payment of extras could result in a good stabbing!
2. There are 9 people in the crew and 5 people in the band. If one person is late it is inconsiderate to everyone else. If you are late you will be given 5 minutes grace and fined 50 pence per minute thereafter.
3. Please ensure that you are in position well in advance of the set time so that the show can start on time. If not, you will be stabbed.
4. Please always keep your laminated pass on your person at all times. Never give it away, not even to Dodgy Boilers! If you show up without it you will
be stabbed.
5. The band and crew are reminded that continuous moaning or whinging about anything and everything is uncalled for and lowers morale. If it is a derical or administrative problem, the tour manager will dispose of it. Ifit is a person that is causing the problem, they will be stabbed.

#VanMorrisonHatersClub. Several years ago I managed a restaurant kitchen where all cooks got equal time on the boom box to play whatever CD they wanted for an hour and 20 minutes. Everyone respected the equal time rule and no one could veto anyone else’s choices. But this one guy ALWAYS played one of the Van Morrison records he owned. I got so sick of it, I’d find any excuse to send him home early so he wouldn’t get another turn on the radio. Even if it was super busy and we needed the help, I’d just tell him to clock out so we didn’t have to hear it again for the 20th time

Per OED, eponym and eponymous only emerged during the mid-19th century.

I bridle at the use of "self-titled" instead of "eponymous." It's ambiguous. Could mean that the artist/band named the work by his/her self, rather than by, say, the artist's/band's agent or producer. Also, as an abbreviation (s/t) I get confused and think it means "soundtrack."

He also recommended the Norwegian detective show Wisting. That one is not so bad.
