Hilarious & great.
Anybody doesn't know - Croz talked of seeing the Trane Quartet in the early 1960s & being very high & pinned to the back wall ...so's he escapes to the RestRoom - rests his face against the green tile he still vividly remembered
...problem was - Trane kicks the door open - still blazing away @ top intensity on his Sax...

Lived in SantaBarbara & saw Croz just walking around a couple times. You develop a different sense of Celebrity in SoCal ...so I didn't bug him. He gave some $bill to a cellist playing in a bookstore - a nice gesture to recall. I wish I'd told him that if he'd done no more than sing the high harmony in 'Bells of Rhymney' on the BYrdS' 1st album, he'd have my eternal regard.

Always struck by how Crosby was both (obviously) foundational to the BYrdS - harmonies of course, also I think enuff of a gadfly to keep them morphing like TheBeatles or Bob ...yet also never quite fitting - counter to their supersonic smoothness in sound & image.
