Frank Rasky, the Canadian journalist mentioned in that illustrated bio, had a brother Harry, who was a filmmaker of some renown. Frank's niece, Harry's daughter, a lawyer, lives 2 blocks from here.

And for those of you waiting for my edict... no! I really don't feel Scott Rolen is a Hall of Famer. He was a brilliant fielder, but no more brilliant than many others. I mean, if Scott Rolen is a Hall of Famer, then Craig Nettles is should be a Hall of Famer. And Craig Nettles isn't a Hall of Famer.

Speaking of soap operas, one of my favorite scenes in the movie Tootsie is when there is a close up of Tootsie on the set and she is saying "my left or your left?" to the cameraperson. (Tootsie is one of my favorite movies)

Not really a WAR guy, AiT. Not really an "analytics guy." Not that I have an aversion to inventing and rely on new metrics. I just don't understand them and don't care enough to find out. If I had a vote on Hall of Fame credentials, I'd take the job seriously. But I'm just an asshole old fart following my eye test. Scott Rolen never once seemed (to me) like a Hall of Famer when he came to bat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am
Jeff Golick:

It's not even that energizing to debate Scott Rolen's Hall-worthiness, which is itself a bad sign.

Ait, I really don't think that's true. I can think of three or four right off the top of my head who were better, and I'm no expert. He was an excellent fielder, but not, in my opinion, in the highest echelon.
