I saw this band a few times but only recently learned they named themselves after a character in "The Hollywood Knights", a comedy set in 1965 that I've not seen for fear I'd be repelled by its lack of period authenticity.

Yep, that was their big “hit” back in the day. Don’t know if it made the charts or anything, but got plenty of play on early alternative radio. Honestly I don’t know any other songs by Holly & the Italians. Guess I should investigate further.
