...it's local, and small (2-person operation), but even the styles that i usually can't stand (ie pale ales, sours, fruity brews...) i've enjoyed from that one.
(last i knew they didn't make any hearty stouts or porters though. strange, with his irish/english background)

i get a severe headache by 1/2way into the 2nd one. that's the case with all of their brews i've had.

I love stout, also, but I'm tired of the high alcohol content of American craft stouts, and the overbearing heavy flavor that they usually have, like "chocolate " stouts.
If there were a nice smooth American stout around 4%, I'd buy it, but I've never found one. So I'm happy with a nice Guinness or Murphy's.

Blisshard i've had that. liked it, didn't love it.
-but the alcohol content doesn't bother me one way or the other. i can handle a lot but don't feel like i want a lot! that's not what killed me with the brooklyn brews.
...some kind of allergic reaction, i'd say.

i don't know why but i never saw the tele back in the day; but i did see them after the reunion in the 90s. i won tickets calling the station (wfmu) with the answer to some trivia.
i brought a friend that i thought would Love it and she said it didn't do anything for her.
