Played in a Celtic Rock band all around the NYC metro area when there were tons of Irish bars that regularly featured live music, from around 2003-2006. Played a few Horslips tunes. Fun times…

I didn't mean for it to sound like I was arguing, so I apologize for giving that impression.
I just love Horslips. Well, and Thin Lizzy and the Undertones and Stiff Little Fingers, so.... Umm... Yeah, you see my prejudices...
But go ahead and say whatever you want about U2! 🤣🤣🤣
(Although ummm I actually have nothing against U2... Well, not NOTHING. I mean, everyone has SOMETHING against U2, but they don't need our help.)

Haven’t kept up with that scene in a long time. But just from cursory looking around during travels around the city in the decade and a half since those days.
I would say a good amount of them don’t exist anymore or have changed names. Hardly any of them have regular live music, and certainly don’t pay much. Which is insane. Because even then bands didn’t make much money. Which will surprise no one here.

She was gone, solid gone…
I used to love to watch her dance the grizzly bear,
I guess she's gone to Frisco to dance it there

Lizzy one of my all-time fave bands. If it were up to me that would have been most of the set. As it was we did Emerald and of course Whiskey In the Jar.
Waterboys also in there.

I love Gong, I've read about Didier Malherbe also being in Clearlight.
Didier Malherbe has to perfect last name ("bad weed") for Gong.
