To clarify, San Pedro refers not to the location but to a medicinal cactus, a very hearty, , psychoactive plant that lives in the driest places on earth. ;)

I feel a little self-conscious following up your drop-in tomorrow. I feel like I'll be setting the collective listener IQ back to negative numbers by the time it all ends ;)

For example, Gaylord, played many artists that I knew but he'd often focus on more obscure tracks or make a connection to another artist or style within his show that would introduce me to something completely new that I probably would not have come across on my own.

Course I always say very FMU-J is a World.
Also always note that FMU so often illustrated how everything is Context. It's the Gallery a Painting is hanging in with others as well as just the Painting itself. *More* than we like to think with our Aesthetics. But which we enjoy nonetheless.
Which underscores that being a DJ is an Art. It really is. & for us anyhow - one that Matters...

( www.facebook.com... ) - I typed :
'Money' is an R&B cover - but all the sly irony is blasted into raging Class anguish. This is Rawk Music as Social Revolution in 1963. We're in for quite a ride in Society after this'...

If John Lennon was *allowed* to scream 'Money' more than Barrett Strong - is it that he also does it *for* him ?
Of course - can also be a simple difference of personal Styles...

In recent years, enough distance has passed that when I hear Motown writers and performers (especially picked by WFMU DJs) I'm hearing it with fresh ears and get a lot out of it. Joe's show is an example of it.
