I was at this carnival, just a few years ago
No big deal, ferris wheel, the same ol’ stuff you know
And I wandered around the grounds until I found this little tent
Man outside made a speech, and this is how it went
“She walks, she talks, she crawls on her belly like a reptile”
It was the same ol’ line, except for one part
He said “It don’t cost no money, you gotta pay with your heart.”
‍‍ Oh, Sharon, what do you do to these men?
You know the same rowdy crowd that was here last night is back again

I had a deaf cat. A runt of the litter from our little 5 lb. Siamese & an Angora male that manged to
get to our girl before we had her altered.

Her 3 kittens were an odd lot.

One kitten was a long haired male with full Siamese markings, like his mom, who was short haired though, with blue eyes & he was cross eyed. (kept by my niece)

One female kitten was short haired, all white with one blue eye & one green eye. (adopted out)

The one kitten we kept was a male, all white, short haired, blue eyes & deaf. He wound up being a big guy. 39 inches nose to tail.

Our vet told us short haired, white cats with blue eyes are usually deaf as it's a genetic deficiency thing.

I mentioned to him the first time we had the kittens in that I thought he was deaf, & asked how can I tell?

An old country vet , he said.."put down his food & let him begin eating. Then bang two pots together nearby. If he doesn't react...he's deaf."

It worked.

We grew alfalfa (hay for horse feed) for a bit on the farm. itchy stuff.

Straw is the stubble that is left after farmers harvest grains from plants like wheat, oats and rye. Farmers and ranchers use most straw for animal bedding. Square bales often sold in the fall for Halloween decorations are bales of straw. Straw can also be used as mulch for gardens and, in some cases, has even been used in walls of houses as insulation.

Straw. If there's a Tractor Supply nearby (for you city farmers) they carry straw bales

I wound up coming back East (I owned a home in PA where I still live) & working for Chris Andersen at Nevessa Productions.

Chris was Todd Rundgren's front of house guy for 11 years & Todd's right hand studio engineer when Todd isn't doing everything himself.

His (Chris') studio was kind of on a rebound & I couldn't make ends meet financially working there, so I went back to doing commercial fire alarm systems repair & inspections
