I need to watch The Last Of Us - I tried to play the video game but I'm easily scared.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 8:19pm
Handy Haversack:

The only video game I've played in the last fifteen years is Poker Academy Pro, which maybe could make an OK TV show ... if you like poker. But The Last of Us is pretty good TV.

Destroit:

I play many vid games. Amazingly, have not played Last of Us. Very strong reviews tho…borderline gold standard for dialogue from what i gather
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm
Becky:

For listeners to this show I always recommend L.A. Noire (authentically set in the 1940s LA) and Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm
ultradamno:

I like the mahjong solitaire myself
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23pm
Becky:

Also Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4 which have incredible HTRG-endorsed soundtracks.

That game is more my speed. Most games (especially timed ones) give me such anxiety.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm
ultradamno:

I didn't even know that show was adapted from a game until a couple of days ago. Same with Werewolves Within, which is also a really good as a movie, it doesn't look to have much in common with the game however.

Handy Haversack:

I'm pretty good at arcade Dig-Dug, though it's been a while. Recent-ish experience showed that taking thirty years off did not improve my already weak performance at Gauntlet -- nor my resistance to feeding it more quarters. Bad enough to blow your allowance when you're fourteen, but at my advanced dignity?!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 8:27pm
Handy Haversack:

K8 will get seriously obsessed when exposed to arcade Ms. Pac-Man.
Avatar 8:27pm
kwatts:

I recommend Grim Fandango for honky tonk folks. :)

I can't even begin to fathom where I'd find time to play one of these new-fangled, sprawling games. Though I do have a kind of silly number of hobbies as it is, I guess.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm
ultradamno:

Well...arcade days, I could rip it up on centipede, frogger and asteroids

Hey fellow honky tonkers

I currently have a healthy balance between Dr. Mario and a 100-hour Japanese game (healthy is relative)

Lol Fallout 4 has phenomenal HTRG energy. RDR2 and LA Noire also great.

100 hour japanese game? Do tell? Ghosts of Tsushima?
Avatar 8:34pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I recently played original arcade Missile Common, Asteroids, Frogger, Centipede, and Pac Man. Grim Fandango is charming (play it on ScummVM). Dr. Mario is addictive. Millipede I'll never tire of. ROM Check FAIL combines them all.

They are supposedly making a Fallout tv show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:35pm

No, though I love that game. It's so gorgeous and engaging. I've been playing Persona 5 Royal.

For my D&D-ish game this weekend, because of reasons I had to create a political Revolution! minigame tracking both the influence the PCs were having on the revolutionary foment of the town and their exposure as ringleaders and what happened in consequence. Everyone seemed to really like it, and I'm going to polish it up for publication. Hoping that others in the hobby are up for some Revolution! practice.

I think I may have learned The Last Of Us was from Pedro Pascal (actor with the name of a cartoon squirrel) hosted SNL and they did a sketch about mario kart as an HBO series...

Interesting indeed. Been forever since i played D&D, but forever embedded in my soul

Pedro Pascal was really great on the last SNL. And he's Mando, so...

We have had this game going with iterations of these people (a.k.a my very good friends) since 2003! We don't play the corporate stuff. Pretty DIY.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56pm
Mr. Pumpy:

Hello, Becky and the honks to the tonks out there! I finished working near 8 and then threw the Rangers game on. I'm taking the 15ish mins between periods to get some grading done. Glad to hear the tunes pouring strong and true through my speakers! I don't post much, but I'm often listening and appreciating. Thanks!
