Great to hear Ron Sexmith getting exposure here. A great writer with many great recordings, who flies under the radar, even while being lauded by other great musicians. You don't get inivited over for breakfast to Sir Paul's place for nothing. I used to see him around on Queen St W. and think, 'Wow, there he is.' Kind of like seeing Brian Wilson walking around.

pretty sure that Erma Franklin version of "Higher & Higher" employs not only Jackie Wilson's track but also the same backing vocals. both versions are on Brunswick and produced by Carl Davis, I do believe.

The Loveless: dir Kathryn Bigelow, 1981. Stars Willem Dafoe and....Robert Gordon. Gordon has some rock-star presence but as an actor he's not good, even as a rockabilly-dressin' biker gang member.
Movie has a cult following, but mostly it's a lot of foreboding. In fact it was still foreboding about 45 minutes in, and I got fed up.
