Spector probly did help convince George he needed to put all that material out - it was more than good. They tell contrasting stories about the other prolonging the process ...Spector saying George was never satisfied with a take - & George saying it would've been simpler & faster without Spector, probly... Waters of course credits Syd with teaching him by example that it was okay to be that vulnerable & direct. & of course was always a subtext of that sort of insanity thematically (how could he not be)...
  11:27pm
Androu B.:

Speaking of all things Beatles-related, I was recently wondering about what Juiian Lennon was up to nowadays. Just looked him up on Discogs now and, as it seems, he released a new album last year...entitled "Julia". Also collabbed with an artist by the name of Nuno Bettencourt on two digital-only releases, a cover of his dad's song "Imagine" and a cover version of Radiohead's "Karma Police". (From that, I take it Julian may have heard Mark Vidler's mashup "Karma In The Life".)

Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

It's kind of true that Harrison was held back by being in Lennon-McCartney's kingdom - & then burst out with his best stuff (All Things a triple!) ...& then had a quite peripatetic approach to being a Pop Star @ all. He was after all a Mystic who was in the most famous band that can ever be. Which is a hugely weird combination. @ the same time - he quite liked all the perks & lifestyle if the mood hit him. & was as a friend said 'a naughty boy' like any RawkStar is...
