WELCOME TO THE LITE SIDE OF WFMU.
Dan Morfitt loves the odd bit of techno and avant-garde Japanese country and western, but he constantly returns to perfect pop, raucous rock and sublime hip-hop with everything in between. Join him, when you can, and remember, KEEP IT LITE!

I'm guessing there's a general affection for certain films and their scores--"From Russia With Love," "Goldfinger," "You Only Live Twice," "Thunderball," "Diamonds are Forever"--because this show, in fact, needs a completely new and different expression to describe it:
It is Connery Bond.
Yes there are things that are Bond, but they fall short somehow. They are too cute (Moore Bond), too wooden (Lazenby Bond), too cold (Dalton Bond), too pretty (Brosnan Bond), and also quite good, but just not quite the same as a particular vintage from a particular time (Craig Bond).
This show is Connery Bond. It's that elegant, shaken-not-stirred blend of just the right sound waves at just the right moments, and I will plumb the depths of the archives of this summer as if I am a high school student again as opposed to a high school librarian, viewing this upcoming vacation as the time to listen, and, let's face it, do the real learning so sadly missing from today's schooling.
Go forth in joy and beauty Dan Morfit, and come back from your hiatus like Charlton Heston coming down from the mountain, changed, holy, and enlightened, so that when you return to the DJs, chair, you shows will once again be musical sermons that take us all to a sacred place.
Quality, sir. Quality.

- that Betty Boo kinda reminded me of her.
- I really enjoyed her debut album βChupacabraβ (1997).
- I hadnβt realized she went on to release several other recordings. Has anybody listened to any of them ?
Ps: I liked Betty Booβs second album best. Yet get this β¦
Betty Boo has a 3rd album as of JUNE 2022 !
- wow , any good anybody ?

Look, folks, full disclosure, and the risk of TMI: I take care of my 90 year-old dad, my girlfriend takes care of her 80 year-old mother, we both care deeply about our respective education jobs (I'm a school librarian, she's a university registrar), one of our dogs does not know the meaning of the word "housebroken," and the world is slipping toward fascism.
The only tools worthwhile are deliberate kindness, wisdom, intelligence, humor, goodness, grace, faith, love, decency, and whatever other positive and good nouns there are for personality traits that make the world a better place.
It's not just this bulletin board and this show that make me a better person. It's the positive energy that I find on, frankly, every bulletin board I go to on this station.
This made my morning, which will in turn help me make the days of as many students as possible a bit more tolerable.
Thanks, pals.
