- fyi: my dad was a Dixieland drummer 🥁 (40s-90s,etc)& he purchased one of those stand-up drum sets: (I believe a layman’s term was a cocktail drumset ?) Anyway being an amateur drummer myself - I was livid when he sold it without telling me !
It was an absolutely fantastic red sparkle setup with a 2 sided vertical bass drum/tom-tom top. Quality mounted bongos on either side ! And a hi-hat plus crash cymbal setup. I nearly flipped when I heard he had sold it ! 🙄 Ugh. I So wish I had it to play now. It was extremely easy to port around compared to a regular drumset !

- seems like y’all ran outta time. Please have Don back for another go around !
Loved hearing your fathers recording.
I have a few wonky cassette recordings of my dads aging Dixie-Jazz band playing things like “Watermelon Man” that are just “off” enough to make them funny to hear. I took copious notes on all the artists and chat suggestions for future research.👏☮️. Looking forward to a re-listen via the archives.
Erik/VermonT:
I was given a signed ‘Rocky’ King record awhile back from family members who still live Cape Cod. Never attended a Rocky show. Now, I have to find the Lp and listen! Are you a cape cod habitué ?
