I'd say the background color of the playlist is more of a custard-mustard than a mellow yellow

Afternoon, Ridgewoodians! Not a bad day for some mellow yellow, in fact.

Also an appropriate tune in a way as I threw on a denim jacket before heading out, not realizing it was much hotter than this AM. Sweated off a lot of the patchouli and leather heavy perfume oil that I put on today, so have a sort of head shop vibe going on. Plus Astoria smells like weed wherever you go now anyway.

"Though no saxophone is present on the recording, Jennings’ title implies an absence, something missing or unheard, a ghost-sound left for listeners to divine for themselves and dream of forever after the fact."

This follows my own figuring, that the anticipation of the entrance of a sax influences how you listen. Very Fluxus.

"When something in an image is concealed, a gap opens where anything might fit, and all possibilities are available. How can you fill in the blank? I think asking "What belongs here?" is often less interesting than "What doesn't, but still could?" I love the humor that results from a mismatch. The completed image often hangs together even though it shouldn't, and you suddenly get to be in two places-the right and the wrong place-at the same time."
