Today is also my father's birthday, something I only learned recently through paperwork

Tomorrow is Father's Day in the States. Hence the feature. My pop has been gone since 2011. He would have been 101 years old. My mother is still around at age 97.

I have to honest I've never known how to respond to howdy. Once in Western Canada someone said "howdy" to me and I responded "hey I'm good, how are you?". He then responded "That's not how you respond to howdy". I forgot to ask him what was the correct way to respond to howdy then. Anyway, that was my unnecessarily long and boring 'howdy' story.
