She also raved about their friendship and talked about how Marcia put her and the band up for a while in Austin when a hurricane hit New Orleans when they were playing here in Austin. That was a long time ago. They've been great friends for a long time

WR, I was actually at a screening of that documentary at the Tribeca Festival in NYC, almost exactly a year ago. After the screening there were live performances from Irma Thomas, Jason Marsalis and Little Freddie King. Fun night! The doc was great.

Noice!! One of my exes in CA is from there. My sis lived in NYC for six years in early 2000's and was a teacher in Queens for a few years, elementary. PS 40-something, I think I remember. I'll have to ask her. She now lives in Metairie. Went back South to marry a guy from there. That's when she left NY, about 17 years ago
