Good morning Brian and all.
I don't agree with that quote, by the way. I'm not much into culture. Art, on the other hand, depletes my bank account on a regular basis

I'm a little scared of the current government but I am not sure they will last the whole 4 years; the backlash has already set it. Between a perfect house, the music scene here (far more interesting than what I found in Frankfurt), the beautiful summers and winters (APril and May kind of suck), and the best friend I ever had made this seem like the place to stay. Been a long time coming. I got into an argument with my father (an unashamed communist) over how we've been telling Arabs to keep quiet and wait their turn for three generations. And counting.
A personal anecdote: a coworker years ago was harassed almost every day by the same cops, demanding proof of a residency permit (she was French, but Arab). We got into the scheme of going for lunch together and holding hands when cops showed up (that worked, wouldn't today because she was happily married and random social media pics would be trouble now)

And what about SCOTUS quashing affirmative action in the name of equality?! In the name of equality, I suggest that every single new born be given an equal share of wealth, and see how they go through life. The cards have to be reshuffled at death; even playing field for each and all!

More real and less dramatic. IAM are the real thing. They supported student demonstrations about higher education access while making it clear it was out of solidarity though nobody they knew would benefit. La haine is poverty porn by rich guys
