The more obvious part to me is the "intelligence" angle - whether AI, or Googling, Wiki, TMZ, etc, it's the brief, sensationalist factoids without real historical depth that I notice (and is everywhere - if they don't care about content depth anyway, might as well outsource the production to the bots.

I like the Dead in the right doses. Their '70s and '80s hits are cool to hear once in a while. The right live jam sounds good at the right moment.
I have a kind of plunderphonics-ish remix CD of the Dead that I like. My Deadhead friend gave it to me, insisting I'd like it, and he was right. I haven't listened to it in ages (which is true of most things I have, to be fair), and I don't remember what it's called.

Revolution Rabbit Nov63:
As Jesse Jarnow observed - the Dead circumvented the cycle of Record in the Studio - hope for a Hit - & spend the rest of the year Touring to promote it ...& just went straight to Showing Up & Playing. & Playing. & then doing to some more.
I note they gestated not in some Club like everyone else ever - but in the Acid Tests with the Merry Pranksters - where the band was not necessarily a central focus whatsoever. They kind of maintained that coy relation with their Muse - or tried to - all the decades they persisted... My conclusion - one needs a Guide who knows to serve you the right Dead. Some of their Improvisations were noodly, a good many of them very spacey, & a certain %age (large or small) quite great.
I would note that Dale doesn't like the Jazzes either - not to point fingers, but to sit in the file next to remarks re the Dead...
