	12:14pm Handy Haversack: We're going to paddle the Pentwater River. Put in the north branch, go to the confluence, turn up the south branch, then come back. It's a very lazy river. Then we'll drive over to the beach at Mears State Park. There's one lake with a passage to a kind of lagoon right behind a Lake Michigan beach, but we really like this Pentwater River paddle for the birds and the lack of other people so thought we'd do it this way. We did 18 miles on the Manistee a few years back, which was really nice. But we don't have any way to shuttle back to the put-in this year.

Fill with ice, top with soda, garnish with 1-2 apricots (or 5 more black raspberries). Works with blueberries and peaches as well. OK, canoe is on the car and the beach bag is packed. Thanks, Bryce.
