↳ Song: "Frauline Love" by "Space Waltz"
It's amazing you still come up with stuff we haven't heard. Or in some cases present them a different way at a different time so they feel new.
Always feels fresh here. Another one of your dj super powers Don!

↳ Song: "It’s On My Mind" by "Big Secret"
I like how the Finger records come with a finger sized hole. Reminds me of finger puppets.
  3:17pm
Cheree July:

Hahaha! Maybe that was the point Debbie!👆
Avatar 3:20pm
Debbie Davenport:

Yep. They are enticing us to finger their sleeves. I have a Smiley record like that. I don't think my Big Secret record is like that though. Different sleeve.

That's great! I keep fantasizing on what I want to do with my records. I can't make up my mind or feel excited about anything except getting super anal about organizing them and research. People don't appeal to me like they used to. Not even enough to do broadcast radio. You kind of need to like your community to be a fun dj.
But maybe I'll get into being around people again sometime. I'd love more experience doing live dj stuff. That's really cool if you can do that regularly Mick!

Avatar 3:51pm
Debbie Davenport:

↳ @3:45
Yeah it would. I would be concerned if I dj'd with someone else that they would either accidently or on purpose wind up with some of my records. People seem to work that out though. Ya got to work with people who respect you.

yeah i got a few Mungo Jerry 45's

I heard that with some of these big city clubs they don't let old or ugly people in the door! So odd to me. That is probably why I'm most comfortable at punk shows. People can look how they want to.

Someone I know who is from New York got turned away from a couple of the clubs. with another old rocker native.

Yes! What if some old rocker wanted to travel all the way to pay tribute to Don's dj skills and showed up live. after traveling a thousand miles. Then got turned away because he was old and not wearing designer clothes or whatever.
Avatar 4:16pm

Maybe we need to start a club that turns away young people.

I do understand that clubs in big cities have competition and want to cultivate a certain vibe so patrons can expect young people to prey on or visually enjoy. But still.
Well I don't know about this kind of law. I think this is just the way.

Not in Oregon either. It's hard enough to get people in the door. The dvd extras for Portlandia talk about how people let their hair get gray here. and it's totally not weird to people. Old people at rock shows. Eugene isn't as active for any scene, but you can get people out if you slap the references 80's or punk on the event.
  4:22pm
?:

its not like that in seattle

Catchy song. The other song about Jeans I'm remembering is Jonathan Richman's "My Jeans". Now I'm wondering how many songs out there are about jeans.

↳ @4:20
I hope if I ever dj these records live that i will have young men in their twenties dancing their asses off. I think I would like being around people again if that was the reward! ( I feel your enjoyment with watching girls that way)

It doesn't ring a bell. His name. I used to be really involved with the scene here and know most people. Record store jobs, radio show, managing a teen band, etc. I've been staying home more these past 10 or 15 years. shit maybe longer. but I go out a few times a year. I"m notcing I see fewer people I know each time. And that I'm the oldest or one of the oldest people at the event or private party.

I don't know how much he goes out there. He's been there about 10 years. He was big in the music scene in LA, was an owner of Dionysus Records. We used to hang out a lot when I lived out West. I've been back in TX 9 years.

A lot of people here do. Like 3 or 4 times a month at least. I wouldn't want to do that so often. People in bands are used to that sort of thing though. It's only like 2 hours. that is probably like driving across town in LA.
