The Radio Is Broken is a three-hour spelunk through the canyons and fissures of humanity's collective unconscious. It sounds as if a field recording of the Culture Industry were a sonic juggernaut barreling down a rickety track—except that tunnel ahead is just painted onto a sheer cliff wall. With occasional forays into what might pass for "normal" music. Prerequisite journey: Cratedigger's Lung

i finally got into the training program at my local college station, but there's some caveats

it's highly unlikely i'll be able to get on the air for another year or so (mostly because you have to take a test with the fcc to actually get on the air), they (mostly) only play alt-rock, and they're wanting me to only do the graveyard shift

part of me wants to take a podcasting course next semester in order to potentially see if i can use their equipment to try to have a show here on the drummer stream

Here's a favorite censoring/editing fail tale:
Peter Marshall -- yes, of Hollywood Squares fame -- had a DJ shift on a Music Of Your Life station -- a format likely connecting with many seniors and people who like the standards, musical and moral, of the good old days. On his show one day, he starts some talking and then stops and say, "Shit, I fucked it up guys..." Yeahhhh, right over the air. He then said something like, "Can we redo it?" so it seemed to be a major screw-up situation with a pre-recorded correctable show and not a live oops moment taking the involved parties by surprise. Who knows why it passed. That particular guy, doing that on that particular station, magnified for me the delight taken in the slip.

Only for the moment. Latest news is he and his partners-in-crime are posting bail while he plans more rallies for the near future.

That he actually said 'hey, Disney, I'm done with you, you can drop the lawsuit now' was a real jaw-dropper though.

Yeah, that's basically his modus operandi.

I'm pretty sure Kissinger had "actual" power.

Trump is an embarrassment. Don't let that influence your opinion of him as politician. Under Trump it's likely we would not be in Ukraine and prolonging a global tragedy.

When is self-interest ever not the key to what politicians, any politicians, are doing?

Not the same thing, not even close.

The best illustration of it was when he was asked in an interview to give an example of a time he sacrificed for someone/thing and he could only come up with were example of things he did for himself in his own business ventures

that's what i mean, even if he was american born, he was happy w/ power behind the figureheads. He has been to China over a 100 times since 1971, and has connections all over the globe. Politicians and CEOs of all stripes listen to him. That's actual power that even many presidents can't match.

Oh yea. I always wanted to get a CD copy of that 2xLP set. What was so “groovy” abt the LP set: the 4th side has a tracking spiral🌀for each of the artists…so depending where one places the stylus it follows thru with just the Anderson track Or the Burroughs track Or the Giorno track. I had never known or heard of that concept before that album! But it made it tricky to actually hear the track you wanted. (From what I gather one Giorno excerpt got left off the CD?).

The show was at a Czechoslovakian meeting space in LA at the time. Great show! It's where I first learned of the then recently released box of 24 hours of Throbbing Gristle on cassette. Somebody had a copy on display.

Oh yea, excellent vintage 80s show!
- where was it ? Please expound on the scene. Cabaret vintage red mecca, perhaps? Or their last truly excellent release(imo) “2x45”(black album).
Monitor: 1981, randomly bought that album cause of the ultra cool album art cover. Had no idea what it was. Was quite surprised by its un-categorizable qualities!?
