Discotech Underground is actually two...two...two shows in one!

The first half is a "Happy Hour" of sorts (because it's five o'clock somewhere, right?), spinning the kinds of sounds you might have heard at a real, authentic 1960's DISCOTECH as cool cats and swingin' chicks danced the night away in their mod threads and mini skirts to hard-driving sounds under the flashing lights! The only thing missing are the cage dancers...but we're working on it!

The second half is for when you head home after a wild night, and ease in with the heady, trippy, mind-expanding sounds of a groovy free-form UNDERGROUND rock radio station that digs deep into their library and blows your mind all over again!

The Rationals "Respect" was a monster hit in the midwest. It predates Aretha but at least a year. The original Ann Arbor pressing had "Leavin' Here" on the flip but they changed it to "Feelin' Lost" to get songwriter royalties.

Great choice with cantaloupe(musk melons have been fantastic & stinky this year). The plums are extra juicy and abundant this year bc of the extended rains this winter/spring. They’re filling the trees around here, I grab handfuls of ‘em. And it’s almost time for the fig harvest(also looking good).

I think they’re cousins to the cantaloupe, they taste & look nearly identical. But before cutting into them, their outer shell has a particularly strong aroma. Depends if that’s yr thing or not! I’m probably not going to make any fog jam, but a simple fig syrup(easy peasy) might be on the menu.

Personally I find 2001 to be a masterpiece in purely cinematic terms. The techniques involved with making the void of space & challenges in making it seem real…it still holds up really well. Barry Lyndon is another masterpiece. The fact that he worked with Contax to develop a completely new lens system to make filming by candlelight possible - AMAZING.
