Hi Bill and everyone!

Ken From Hyde Park:

With a label name Napalm Records, you know it's got to be good!
Avatar 12:04pm
Bill Zebub:

Greetings. I shall try some new things today. Let me know what you think of the songs.

Seitan is good if you're fine on gluten

Bill Zebub:

Greetings, OSS, Jacob666, and Feldy (and Ken fromHyde Park and Jan Turkenburg).
  12:23pm
OSS:

That medley was not bad!
Avatar 12:25pm
Bill Zebub:

OSS, I heard REQUIEM IN WHITE perform Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song and was sad that it never made it onto an album. That was magical.
  12:28pm
OSS:

Bill, are you a big Zeppelin fan?
Avatar 12:28pm
Bill Zebub:

I like the darker aspects of Zeppelin.
Avatar 12:31pm
Mr Fab:

Hail, Bill!

I would find it unlikely that a metal fan would not like Led Zep. Along with Black Sabbath, they practically invented the genre. Tho granted, they did plenty of stuff that might not be considered metal.
Avatar 12:32pm
Mr Fab:

I'm old enough to remember when the only genre of metal was metal.
Avatar 12:32pm
Bill Zebub:

Mr Fab, there is no question that Sabbath and Zeppelin were forefathers, but they were mostly penatonic. I favor the minor scales...
  12:33pm
OSS:

I'm not the biggest fan of them, but The Battle of Evermore is one of my favorite songs ever.
Avatar 12:33pm
Mr Fab:

↳ Bill Zebub @12:32
Ah, that's an interesting take on it.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:34pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Irwin played some Metallica yesterday. The revolution continues.
  12:34pm
OSS:

Mr Fab, I've met people that do not like Sabbath, and I personally am not a big Zeppelin fan.
Avatar 12:35pm
Mr Fab:

Maybe it's a generational thing. When I was a kid, Sabbath and Zep were GODS.
Avatar 12:36pm
Bill Zebub:

Mr Fab, they are still gods.
  12:37pm
OSS:

I understand! we are already over 50 years removed from when Sabbath and Zepp were new, so I'm sure the young worship new gods now!
  12:57pm
OSS:

I love this band! I watched this concert recently and it was great fun.
  12:58pm
OSS:

I do miss the style of the 90's though. It seems they became a new band when they came back as Septicflesh.
Avatar 12:59pm
Bill Zebub:

Their Dark Romanticism era is no more.
  1:01pm
OSS:

haha traumatize away bill! as long as the music is great, I think people here should know what to expect, yes?
Avatar 1:07pm
Bill Zebub:

OSS, there are always newcomers, and I am a newcomer to this time slot... so my assumption is that most listeners are new to darkness.
  1:08pm
OSS:

I understand.
  1:10pm
OSS:

Oh I like this song! wrong album though!
Avatar 1:10pm
Bill Zebub:

Even in the realm of metal, there are those who have not sunk into the depths. I am the gate.
  1:12pm
OSS:

You certainly are Bill! I'm very happy to see you back on the radio!
Avatar 1:13pm
Mr Fab:

getting my recommended daily allowance of blast-beats.
Avatar 1:14pm
Bill Zebub:

Mr Fab. you enjoyed THE GATHERING. The singer is in VUUR, and that shall be played later on. Consider it for thee.
  1:25pm
OSS:

I love Anathema's 90's stuff!
  1:28pm
OSS:

wow, a b-side? I love this one too, it takes you places this song! very intense too me!
Avatar 🎸 1:28pm
Jacob666:

Long live the King.
Avatar 1:29pm
Mr Fab:

↳ Song: "Night of the Unborn" by "Mercyful Fate"
I used to have a copy of this album, thanks to my campus station giving it away.
  1:31pm
OSS:

what's your opinion of it Mr Fab?
Avatar 1:34pm
Mr Fab:

↳ OSS @1:31
Honestly, haven't heard it in ages! Forgot about it til hearing it now. I think I had 2 Mercyful Fate/King Diamond albums, and kept one? Sorry, losing brain cells, haha...
  1:35pm
OSS:

haha alright! and what about the song that just played?
Avatar 1:37pm
Mr Fab:

↳ OSS @1:35
Sounded good! i remember being a bit iffy on his voice, going from the low growl to the high piercing screech, but sounded fine there.
Avatar 1:41pm
Mr Fab:

I had a sensitivity to high voices - the singers for Yes, Rush, Frankie Valli in early Four Season would all make me cringe. Doesn't seem to bother me as much now. Probably losing hearing!
  1:42pm
OSS:

I've played MF/KD to a lot of people over the years and some of thereactions to the voice are just priceless!
Avatar 1:43pm
Mr Fab:

↳ Song: "The Grave of Civilization" by "Void of Silence"
those vocals like chanting monks - i think we need a genre called Gregorian-core
  1:44pm
OSS:

I loved it instantly when I first heard it!
  1:45pm
OSS:

hahaha don't give people ideas, they might use them!
Avatar 1:48pm
Mr Fab:

There was a band called Nitro who had this ridiculously entertaining song called "O.F.R." (out-fuckin-ragous) and the singer had the most absurdly high voice, like an air-raid siren. My friends and I used to piss ourselves laughing. The singer appeared on an episode of the show "Mythbusters" demonstrating that you CAN shatter a glass if you sing hi enough.
  1:49pm
OSS:

Jim Gillette, yes! They took it to ridiculous extremes in my opinion!
  1:51pm
OSS:

I saw that episode, he was not in it, someone else did the glass breaking on the show.
Avatar 1:57pm
Mr Fab:

Ah, just looked it up - apparently they just showed a Nitro video w/Gillette doing his glassbusting bit.
  1:59pm
OSS:

I listen to Ahab's first 2 albums all the time! Great music!
Avatar 2:40pm
Mr Fab:

Supernatural Cat Records, love it.

We have a black cat. Nothing too witchy about him, tho. Unless eating and sleeping is supernatural.
Avatar 🎸 2:41pm
Jacob666:

wFMU is better than the last station.
Avatar 2:43pm
Bill Zebub:

Jacob666, they did not like the Satanic songs, and when I ranted against the religious superstition that overturned abortion, let's just say that I was asked to leave...
Avatar 2:46pm
Bill Zebub:

I am the field when pain is the seed.
Avatar 2:51pm
Mr Fab:

↳ Bill Zebub @2:43
i imagine them holding up a crucifx at you, shouting "The power of lame-ass radio compels you!"
Avatar 2:54pm
Bill Zebub:

Ken predicted that I wouldn't last there. ha ha. Regardless, I never remain if I am unwanted. That is also my attitude toward the unborn, ha ha.
  2:57pm
OSS:

Great show!
Avatar 2:58pm
Bill Zebub:

Thanks, OSS. I will think carefully about what to provide next week.
Avatar 🎸 2:59pm
Jacob666:

Untill next week kinsman.
  2:59pm
OSS:

Bye to all!
Avatar 3:00pm
Bill Zebub:

Jacob666, it is an honor to serve you.
