Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

but i didn't "let" it happen; there was no avoiding the radio as a child, and only 1 station, basically.
but it is a rather trite melody; and the long chant ending was a gimmick... and it's not like i wasn't as equally over-exposed to many other songs that have aged much better.
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:
No I don't think they're above Critique. But they are as overarching & relevant as anything ever - certainly in my entire lifespan since for instance their Saturday Cartoon Show in my toddlerhood. & yes - I enjoy them immensely. Many the Musician & Creative seems to share this assessment, apparently...

but on wfmu, sadly!...also up 'till a couple short years ago at the pub...when some downstate tourists come in and quickly realise they're out of their league, so to speak, so decide to play a "punk" song... "i wanna be sedated". also most "80s night" djs will, pathetically, play it if you ask for the ramones.
it's sad!

"floy floy" was slang for a venereal disease, but the term was not widely known and failed to attract the attention of censors. It was regarded as nonsense and came to have positive connotations as a consequence of the song.

But did they have a big existence without him, either before or after? I now see a reference to Roy Rogers as a "member of" The Sons of the Pioneers... was he a regular non-headlining member of the group before he became the famous singin' cowboy of the silver screen?
