it's not terrible. I had completely forgotten about it's existence til just now. Probably heard it over store PAs in the '80s and haven't since. But it's a nice tune.

Ross the Boss used to hang out at the club we went to in high school called the Left Bank in Mt Vernon, NY. Nice guy.

Clover toured as the support group for Lynyrd Skynyrd, Thin Lizzy and Graham Parker and the Rumour in the UK during the late 1970s.

It's all connected.

i found a fascinating article about the Left Bank and the "suburban scene":
www.nytimes.com...

Good to remember these places, the ones that don't get mythologized like the city clubs.

Nice, thanks. We saw Gang of Four, The Slits, Duran Duran, The Cramps, and more at the Left Bank. It was three stops away from our hometown of Port Chester, NY on the Metro North train. We still went into NYC, mostly to The Ritz. We either rushed back to Grand Central to catch the last train at 1:40 AM or we had to wait for the 'milk train' (5:40 AM) to get back home. I would go to school on almost no sleep. Was still an honors student. :)

In praise of the 'burbs! This was the spot for us Vals:

Saw The Ramones, Wall of Voodoo, Replacements, and was at that Beastie Boys event mentioned in the article (which was FREE)
