This is what I remember: In L.A. the punk scene was so relentless in finding a band or individual to kick in the shins. Some of it was harmless fun, But some of the self-appointed tastemakers were like the religious police in Iran, constantly looking for someone or thing to invalidate.
It only lasted a short time, before it was onto something else.
So so appreciate that you love the NDW (German new wave / post punk era) and still access it all for our benefit! Besides the awesome sauce of der plan and pyrolator; try the absurdist theatrical Wirtschaftswunder (earliest is usually best, but lots are good). Xao Saffecheque (sp?) a cd of his best stuff was collected not too long ago. Picky Picnic. Lost Gringos. A Certain Frank (so great !). Andreas Dorau. Der Modern Man. Fehlfarben. Die Todliche Doris. Lask. try Mader ‘tango-bidet’ album. What about how great the Eurythmics 1st album “in the garden” is ?! (prior to the shift to ‘sweet dreams’ vibes).

I believe ata tak label still releases their own reissues and new(?) - perhaps in a co-label issue.
- the ‘wack attack barrack’ label sounds like a splinter-joke on ata tak.
You made it cohesive, though that's too strong a word (I'm not that cohesive, maybe that helped). It's part of why I love the station: the shows and comps feel personal

That had a CAN adjacent vibe to it. Keyboards had an Irmin Schmidt vibe.
Trumpet subbed in for French horn ?
Great concert at The painted Bride Philadelphia, painted them live, a delight. Had some music healing going on, check out Idris Ackamoor and the Pyramids, the vinyl coming out in a few days "Afro Futuristic Dreams, pretty special...
