' Mark Helias (born October 1, 1950) is an American double bass player and composer born in New Brunswick, New Jersey. '

...If you mean by 'start chart' an actual Birth Chart - that's easy to generate & a good bit more involved to actually interpret. Wigkey says Born in New Brunswick, NJ - Time of Day of Birth is much to be desired. But sans that - any idea of what part of the day is better than nothing. Acquaintance of yours ?

Stork, there is a drink called the Holland Tunnel; but, as many consider it too crass for a high-toned joint like this, it was left out of the expurgated Second Edition of the Stork Club Cocktail Bible, and so dropped from subsequent reproductions. Since you asked for it, though, the recipe follows:

Holland Tunnel

16oz Glen Passaic, divided into (8) 2oz shots
3 stalks celery
soup bowl of water

Trim ends from celery, and place side by side on bar, concave side up, narrow end slightly overhanging customers' ("Manhattan") side of bar. Place bowl of water atop stalks. Bid patron kneel before bar, with mouth agape, positioned just below celery stalks. Hastily and unevenly pour shots of Glen Passaic into bartender's ("Jersey") side of celery stalks, such that they flow in confused fashion, jostling and sloshing, down stalks and into patron's mouth. Traditionally, other bar patrons are encouraged to add sound effects, by shouting "Honk honk!" "Up yours, buddy!" "Paramus is the other way!" etc.

So the water bowl is to weight down the celery so it doesn't tumble off the bar?

Do the Jersey sides of the stalks stick out on the bartender's side of the bowl, so that the fine Passaic malt flows in its celery culverts beneath the bowl?

(I have to get all the details right before I start serving this)

The water bowl is there to symbolize the mighty Hudson River, beneath which the Holland Tunnel passes, but it does help with keeping the fumes down. And, yes, the stalks do need to stick out some on both sides of the bowl (though a long-necked funnel is a reasonable expedient, if your bowl is too wide or your celery too short).

The important thing is that this is supposed to sound like three homonyms. The ambiguous thing is that the specific accent is unstated. (note that Kenny Wheeler was a Canadian with a long time in the UK, so there's no vowel help there).

Nothing of the kind. As a budgetary measure, the Club's mixers are usually bought expired or discredited. Ever wonder why the club soda doesn't fizz? Well.

Pepe Habichuela, what a name! Acc to Wikipedia, "He was born in Granada and belongs to a flamenco dynasty of gypsies started by his grandfather, known as "Habichuela el Viejo" (Old Bean), who took the nickname, and continued by his father José Carmona and his brothers Juan Habichuela (1933), Carlos and Luis."

Having mis-read the personnel list on this track, I am thinking of using the name Pepe Hibiscus as a new pseudonym.

Yup. An intrusion so obnoxious the American public rejected it (!). Imo respect for the commons has eroded since then. Glass will rise again.

I have this LP, by the grace of God. After years of searching found it online (probably eBay), it was mailed to me in a huge padded envelope with no cardboard or anything. Somehow it made it to me intact.
If it were sent today I have no doubt it would have been crushed and or folded to get through a mail slot/

Ahh, glassholes!

Sadly, I expect that that tech was merely a little bit ahead of its time, and will seep back again with hardly anyone noticing the next time.

I think there's already some other abomination out there running loose in the world which is a collusion between Facebook and Ray-Ban...

The Pulaski Skyway! Now there's a bridge to tomorrow: if you drink one now, that's when you'll regain consciousness. It's basically an Irish Car Bomb, but with Glen Passaic for the shot and diesel exhaust for the ale. For fullest flavor, collect the exhaust in a plastic deli bag from the exhaust of a truck burning #2 home heating oil, none of this low-sulfur highway stuff.

technology like this reminds me of ornament and crime by adolf loos and his argument against the creeping totalism if design, art nouveau, early in the 20th c.
