Yesterday the league leaders Parma arrived to get beaten 3 - 2 on a gorgeous sunny late afternoon at Venice football stadium. Reading Calvino's Invisible Cities and watching the sun and the moon fire glints off the waves. It's the life, alright and such a soundtrack, grazie!

Ulysses is an easy and rewarding read.
It did take me around 22 years from my first try to my successful attempt to read Finnegans Wake. Worth the struggle? Hard to say, I'm glad I read it, but there are better books.

...but then "the road" was VERY disappointing to me. i almost put it down several timesbut kept thinking maybe it's like a Vonnegut book - where it kind of drags for even >1/2 the book but the end is so amazing it's totally worth it!
then the end did nothing.
