I do remember that! The timeline's a little bit fuzzy in my brain. I remember being blown away by his casual brilliance on the piano. A few weeks or months after your show I was in NYC. I was meeting some friends for some afternoon drinking at a bar across the street from Tompkins Square Park. When I was getting close to the bar I heard this wobbly sounding sazophone. It was Giuseppi playing in the park! I watched/listened for about 15 minutes before heading in to the bar.

There must be a vast map [in some corner of the universe] of such places in the New York and Los Angeles areas. I'm reminded of a walk I took back in the 80s, uptown right into Harlem (deep into it for the first time) where I was stopped in my tracks by the sound of one of the best jazz pianists I've ever heard, coming from an upper floor of a really old stone apartment building on the other side of the street; the entire place was boarded up, slated for demolition. Derelict. But somewhere within there was a musician on the order of Don Pullen. Mind-blowing. I just kind of collapsed into a heap on the curb, next to a little boy and his mom , and I thought, "Yeah. I AM HERE." I almost wept for joy.

We had a friend who lived in Greenwich Village, was a lawyer but studied drums with Vernel Fornier, sometimes gigged at a corner club on Houston Street, and hosted a jazz party annually, to which Fornier brought his musician buddies to play. Man, I miss those parties, they were gteat (he passed away). That, and house concerts a different friend has with Nels Cline and his associates are the closest I've gotten to those kind of intimate "shows".

I already have that release in my bandcamp wish list. In fact some aspects "we've all been here before" feeling must be because you had a Idrees Sulieman appreciation program in February of this year.
