I recently saw a video of The Mutants playing in the late '70s to a crowd of like 7 or 8 y.o. Deaf kids. They seemed to be having a good time, smiling and signing to each other.

when I was in kindergarten, i ask my parents for me to take ASL, inspired by Linda from Sesame Street. Unfortunately, I only kept it up for a year, and it's 98% gone now...

Dorothy Casterline, a Deaf woman who graduated from Gallaudet in 1958, co-authored "A Dictionary of American Sign Language on Linguistic Principles," the first such work ever published.
