I mentioned last week or so seeing a show about black mambas, there was an anecdote about a golfer who got bit on the neck by one that was on a tree limb above him. The closer the bite is to your brain the less time you have, the venom being a neurotoxin, and he died right there. I don't golf, but still one of the more scary animals (they also have a reputation for being quick and darty in their movements)

There is an exhibit space at the NY Aquarium in Coney Island called "Spineless" that is largely devoted to jellyfish (and other invertebrates, of course). Jellyfish are rather hypnotic to watch moving in that pulsing manner.

I just started cat-sitting for a nice kitty named Lightfoot. I have to give her ear medication. So she hisses at me afterward, but still rolls over and lets me pet her while she’s hissing, which is funny.
