One day in college, I skipped class to go to my fave pub. Bummer was they were out of Guinness. Worse was that it was because The Pogues did an aftershow party there the night before and I missed that.
The silver lining is that a guy there took pity and proceeded to school me on whisky (I first said I didn't like the stuff). Turned out he was the owner, and that I do like the good stuff. I didn't pay anything for that lesson, but it was all the learning I did that day

Last year I saw a dance show in the Louvre, the Raft of the Medusa is huge, but no sunglasses in there (also Mona Lisa is tiny and clean shaven).
I remember getting Rum, Sodomy & the Lash at a record store in a sleepy country town, embarrassing my mother in the process
