yeah, just a week in florida would allow a tinge of my southern accent to come, as my friends would tell me when i'd come back to nyc. of course, my florida friends would notice my yankee accent when visiting florida...(but this time it's deeper, as i'm been surrounded by some serious deep southern accents at the shelter).

Ile de France is the suburbs (poor), definitely not Paris (rich). Race actors in (Paris is white, suburbs are complicated, arabs, blacks, asians, whites are torn apart by elders)
  12:53pm
Dean:

Fanfare's Marc Medwin on this recording:

"Perhaps more than any other interpretation I’ve heard, Aimard demonstrates that what Messiaen did, in the face of history’s rush forward, was to remain who he was, channeling the new through the old. Listening again to Aimard’s Catalogue, now having lived with it for a while, I’m struck by its accessibility with not a hint of condescension. Even as passages of the thorniest complexity thunder, float or dance by, a cadence of ravishing beauty, often modal, is waiting around the corner; Aimard makes the circuitous path through it all as straight as possible, always with an ear on the return."

When I first visited Paris in '84 to traipse around with Les Arts Florissants, I missed an evening train to Bergamo, where they were to perform. Instead, I went to their office on Rue de Paradis.
