I've been re-watching the Marx Brothers movies, trying to get that pacing down for dialog. Damn, they are singular in comedy, that's for sure. But you could do worse than watch their movies over and over again.

It's a bummer that they aren't more widely seen now. You don't find them on TV unless you have some DEEP CABLE channel, and the rights are so confusing that you have to get three different boxed sets to have all their work? (And that's not even everything?)

They should just be on late night TV, like they were for decades.

In general, I'm very disappointed in the quality of late night TV. No old movies, no re-runs of TV shows from the distant past, and Horror Hosts in general. I just recall being able to stay up late and see all sorts of classic movies and TV shows... and now it's just reality shows and talk shows. How are the kids supposed to accidentally see a Cary Grant movie and realize he's amazing?

The Night Flight app is pretty good; complete episodes, lots of great movies and music documentaries to stream. I know streaming is not cool anymore, but I miss that show SO MUCH.

Gave her a good grounding in basic music, too. So she's familiar with Beatles, Beach Boys, Michael Jackson, Sinatra, etc. Kids don't just stumble on the classics on oldies radio anymore they way we used to.
