I read the Dahl book as a child and still remember differences to the 1971 film. As Charlie ascended with Wonka in the Great Glass Elevator, he saw the other kids leave the factory in disgrace.
Augustus Gloop was covered in chocolate. Veruca Salt was covered in garbage. Violet Beauregarde resumed her normal shape but was still blue. Mike Teavee was stretched tall but incredibly thin.
