I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

So, in that context, I would love if I was able to eat Indian every meal every day.

We've had a new chain come into the area called Grocery Outlet. Kind of the TJ Maxx of grocery stores. Everything is inexpensive, but you never know what you're going to get. Surprising amount of vegan and organic products from time to time. Last time I was there they had a bunch of different Vevan "cheeses" for about $3. A while back they had a bunch of imported Kerry Gold real cheese for about the same price, but they were all gone a couple weeks later when I went to reload and haven't been back on the shelves since.

Local liquor stores are the thing in MD. No state-run ABC stores or anything like that. My cousin used to be the chairman of the county liquorboard, and the battle to keep the chains out and protect the small businesses is one of things that made him retire from it. He was getting grief from the chains (one even accused him of attempting to solicit a bribe and threatened to refer him for prosecution under the RICO act), and he'd get nasty letters from residents who didn't know why they couldn't save $1 on their box of Franzia at Safeway while still having their buddy Steve and his liquor store available when they didn't want to fight the checkout lines. The $12K or so a year he got for running it wasn't worth the grief.

Hopping in on chat for a second -- in NY we have been trying to get wine into grocery stores FOREVER and it keeps getting shot down by the liquor store lobby. However, you can get shitty "wine" (I forgot what the corporate doublespeak on this one is -- "wine product" or some crap like that) that is less than 10% (I think) alcohol at grocery stores and bodegas now. It's the biggest load of shit imaginable; they're yelling about "giving minors access to wine" when the BEER section of even the crappiest little supermarket in NYC has whole aisles of beer in cans and a whole strip of cooler cases full of beer. Frankly, if they changed the law, it wouldn't have much impact on urban areas because I don't think most places would want to sacrifice shelf space when there's a liquor store every 10 feet anyway. Yeah, the big suburban Stop n Shops would probably tack on a liquor section, but the shop ecosystem means that's there's usually already a liquor store in or near the same areas where the supermarkets are. And it still has absolutely zero impact of illegal sales of hard alcohol-based beverages ("nutcrackers" and similar) at bodegas and such.

We have wine and liquor in grocery stores in New Orleans. A very large section, a very large selection. In NYC I had to walk across the street from the grocery store to get wine or liquor.
