This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

Two things to add to the conversation.

a. The Guru Guru UFO album has been remastered and issue in vinyl, cd & digital available via bandcamp.

i think it's very Hendrix, which is a bit of both. Their later homage to Bo Diddley indicates an american affinity. they're way too primitive & anti-song form to make me think too much of Deep Purple or Cream, personally. but that doesn't exclude all of UK rock

found this interesting, did not know of guaraldi beyond peanuts...guaraldi after 1970..."Guaraldi's sound also evolved into a more fusion jazz/rock sound, as he largely traded the piano for Hammond B-3 and Fender Rhodes electric keyboards. His live performances included musicians who specialized in funk and soul as well as traditional jazz."

Avatar 9:28pm
Flash Strap:

↳ tom tom the pipers son @9:26
not exactly, though it's described as such because it compiles recordings from a few different sessions/periods - everything on it is unreleased and about a third of it was recorded in 1974 for the album

"Compilation" implies belatedness. All albums are compilations, but I think tttps means "stuff collected from prior recordings." Mr. Strap clarifies accordingly.

The rules don't apply to Miles. His albums of scraps from the electric era are just as enjoyable to me as his renown masterpieces. I even avoided Get Up With It for a long time because I thought his sunglasses were silly, I assumed the contents were subpar. My mistake! I was surprised to hear a snippet of Maiysha in the TV show Atlanta.

yeah the cover doesn't do it many favors, though i've come to like it now, it just doesn't convey the crazy funky psychedelic energy like a lot of his other electric covers do. it looks like something to do cut lines on
