I was just re-watching an old 2000s YouTube classic video called "Evolution of Dance" where a guy on stage demonstrates several dance moves through the ages as a medley of songs plays. There's a part where he does the Grease Lightnin' song dance from Grease musical and seamlessly transitions to devil hand dance to AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long" and you can hear the audience go nuts. That's all Ive been thinking about after reading Aich's comment about AC/DC.

Nice! I was thinking a lot recently about dance shows like that. I used to try out for those. One we did greased lightning. A chorus Line. The reason I thought of these was because I got a Soulful dynamics record in the mail and they do the knee knocking thing a lot. Because I was in a roaring 20s dance thing at 12, And my aunt used to show me things like the Jitterbug, I was thinking the knee knocking thing was a modern goofy dance that went with the bathtub gin thing. and legal speed. but it finally registered with me that its much older than the roaring 20s. Old african dancing.

A lot 1920s/1930s dance styles like Charleston etc. have made a bit of a comeback. I am quite sure that in the US and Canada there are many opportunities to join vintage dance clubs/groups/classes. There are more opportunities now to learn all kinds of dances than ever. I am afraid of dancing but I try once in a while.

John, was telling Don that the Crunch is basically Winchester Cathedral by The New Vaudeville Band, but with synths.

Kittimu:

Yeah that's what I thought. Cause I use Spotify (unfortunately) and Crazy Kids is on there but it says it's by the Jook and it sounds, well, exactly the same

Sax in rock n roll music has its moments. For example in Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side" and Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run" and bunch of his songs. But yes, in Roxy Music's "Do the Strand" it is used with a different edge.

I didn't think I could block ads with my set up, but my son did something to my computer and now I get zero facebook ads. He did the same with youtube, but youtube eventually noticed and started giving me warnings. I went back to their stupid ad version. I was afraid they would kick me off there.

I think there is something you could do to YouTube so they don't notice your adblocker, but I totally forgot what it is

Oh ok. I can understand in that case. I had wanted start making music again and was going to use Facebook to post some of my stuff and start off from there since some of my old friends are on there. But I I could not stand anything else on there so figured I'll pull the plug on Facebook. I'll probably use YouTube instead for music in the future.

It is difficult to stop using/ get rid of social media. But I have realized that the moment one does it, they discover all these other things in life/world and a new sense of freedom.
