climate change has shown them that they don't need to migrate to survive. no migration, no need to pass down the ability to fly in formation.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19pm

The v formation geese are migrating. The loose flocks you see are locals that don't need to migrate because they eat grass from industrial parks etc. There's still plenty of geese flying high in the sky. I see them from the Montclair Hawk Watch every fall. And don't get me started with snow geese. You can see tens of thtousands of them near the Delaware River down 78 right around now.

There was an older woman who lived alone near where I used to live in Montague,NJ.

She had a big grey watch goose who, if you came anywhere near her property would come at you honking & flapping it's wings until you left.

I worked on the town road dept at the time & we'd have to go by her place to clean out a storm drain periodically.

Re "meese" vs. geese - the answer is "actually, no". "Goose" inherits its irregular (vowel-shifted) plural form because ultimately it descends from the West Germanic language spoken by the Anglo Saxon settlers in England after 600 AD (which later morphed and mutated and evolved into the vernacular slop we now call English), in which such plural forms are quite common. "Moose", however, is actually a loan word from Algonquin (one of the major indigenous language families in the Northeastern US). Hence, we would not expect it to be subject to Germanic pluralization rules.

Their are, according to Cornell University, three billion migratory birds missing in the year of 2023. The answer is of course , FUKUSHIMA (NOT AN ACCIDENT) 03-03-2011. The meltdowns of meltdowns. This genocide ! The food chain is broken. The smallest of the small , Natures provision for food from the largest to the largest. These people should be dealt with and done away with. This an EXTINCTION EVENT Nuclear energy is OUR Undoing . The death Knell has been sounded ! This is NOT a JOKE ! Just the facts man.

Notice how Fukishima vanished from the public eye a mere couple of months after it happened?

Like someone spilled a cup of coffee on the ground.

Not much we can really do about it except stand up to stop more nuclear energy from being built.

The talk is back that "it's the future, it's a lot safer than it was back in Three Mile Island times"
