1940 Gibson archtop - signature instrument of a noted Jazz Artist ...not surprising. Given the market on Vintage Gittars reflects infinite demand for very limited supply. (If ironic for lines designed to be affordable & reproducible...) Also it's pritty.

Not sure on that Band On The Run remix...it does show how the overdubs and the Visconti orchestrations (and G Martin production) helped elevate a great tune to an all time classic. I missed Macca's weird guitar solo fills before the big build up. I like hearing these stems mixed together, but I didn't like some of the comments I've seen almost suggesting Visconti's arrangements were too bombastic, like the whole Let It Be Naked "de-Spectorized" release

It is balanced, definitely, and Geoff Emerick's engineering was 100% on-point across that whole album despite some crazy recording conditions. Live And Let Die had to do the James Bond sound, I can see where they had to play into that sound when they got the contract. All the Bond theme songs up to the 90's or so had that sweeping cinematic sound, I think McCartney is among the handful who actually nailed the Bond vibe.

Yes, that was one of the secrets to the Peter Green guitar and that tone he got, the pickups were out of phase and it gave the guitar a totally different sound. Those early PAF pickups all had apparently different numbers of winds depending on who was on the machine at the factory, and some 58-60 Bursts sound amazing while others have less punch. Crazy.

Defiance is great for what it is. JMV is a merchant marine on suspension in NYC waiting to be reinstated. He moves into the Lower East Side where the neighborhood is terrorized by a neighborhood gang. He gradually befriends his new neighbors and spearheads their effort to reclaim their streets from the gang Gritty NYC movie.

Little Darlings is a teenage coming of age film that holds up remarkably well to modern sensibilities. Tatum O'Neil and Kristy McNichol play the leads. They compete to see who can lose their virginity first. Sounds trite, but it's very heartfelt and funny at the same time. I was charmed.

This season of "Fargo" (didn't see the first 2, need to catch up) was frustrating at times (and the political stuff was ridiculously un-subtle) but it more or less redeemed itself with the last 2 episodes.
