Doug Schulkind:

From a 1982 Geoffrey Himes article in the Washington Post titled "Jazzing Up Country:"

"A common misconception is that jazz-playing and country-singing are at opposite poles of musical sophistication. Jazz trumpeter Miles Davis has lavishly praised country singer Willie Nelson and titled an unreleased jazz vamp "Willie Nelson," pointing out that he and Nelson share a style of phrasing. They shape lines dramatically with unexpected pauses and harmonies, an evocative grainy tone and wistful understatement."

i met a woman shortly after i lost my mother. we went on a date a week later. we didn't have relations. she was suicidal so i said she could have my master bedroom as i slept on the couch. she then demanded $100 from me or she would kill me. i tracked down her father, the philly detective assigned to her missing persons case, and the PI assigned as well. i had the local precinct do a wellness check, and w/ her father's permission, had her committed. she has since been realeased, but my threat of a restraining order communicated to the father has kept her from contacting me. i've also had a norovirus all week, but since i have no sick time at work yet, i've still come into work. kept down solids last night
