As of Tuesday she's officially listed for transplantation at UPenn. Things are early still, but the she's looking into listing at a couple other locations as well.

On my end I've designed a cool little lung graphic with a QR code and printed a bunch of stickers that I and friends have been sticking up in various locations across the continent.

And Miranda, she's doing great. Obviously annoyed with all the drugs she has to take, and she's on an oxygen tank, but she's feeling really loved right now.

Sorry for the long message but I think that's the full news.

In Rawk Music for instance - even closer to us in time & where our attention tends to be in a way - the 1960s Revolutions I've always felt rooted in - the 'Revolutions' didn't extend to women's liberation to a large extent. As a cultural movement - that had to wait until the 1970s. & of course chauvinism persists as much as, say, racism does - & equality has not been achieved.
The one time I did make it to Paris - & so actually see Works in person - I did experience an adjustment in my feelings about Modernism. The Centre Georges-Pomidou left me a bit underwhelmed. Seeing Works there face-to-face seemed not too different than seeing them in books. Aha. Once one has the Idea - you've got it. But the Musée d'Orsay of Impressionism left me feeling - these guys were really about Painting - & seen gthem in books was not the full experience.
Well it's not a new idea that we've been in a PostModern era for some time.
We're PostPostPostMod maybe by now...
Personally, I think being better informed about Artists' - or anyone's - biographies is all for the good. Why not know the truth & the facts ? But then the overall question of what is the relation of Art, Artists - & Morality & Ethics ? I'm sort of not inclined to ask that Artists should by Role Models. Yet one doesn't want to support harmful behaviors either.
Representation Matters. No pun intended...

Lennon also said @ one time 'I am a very Religious fellow'. He was obviously a Mystic & believed any number of things after all. 'Jesus was all right - but it's his followers that ruin it for me.' Lennon a prominent figure in Modernism whose personal evolution itself seemed the Work of Art in a sense - partly in how it holds a mirror to all of what happened in Society. & in that - & in everything - he only made it to age 40 in 1980. & that's the fact of contextualizing him...

I like the Paintings on this page. Both the aesthetic & that they have something to say - are relevant. I see that Realism is important (& certainly admirable skill) here - but I'd tend to think of them as quite stylized with elements of Expressionism & Pop - that is, Modernism - to them tho.

Comedain Steve Hofstetter was taking questions - & was asked about what he thot about how appropriate something Richard Pryor or someone said ...& Steve stopped them & said - here's the thing. It doesn't matter. Not to slight previous Comedians or the questioner - but it's not relevant. Because what we consider appropriate is changing now every couple of weeks !

I kind of consider the problem with Marilyn Monroe was that everyone wanted to cast Marilyn Monroe ...& that was already a Role for NormaJean. Modernism, Identity & Society ...well, its the Age of ♒︎Aquarius isn't it. I wonder if we're in for a couple thousand years juggling that stuff. Oh & Technology is also a correlate of the sign. This Marilyn painting kind of asks us to be her looking in the mirror...

Wake and Bake Glistener here.
I agree. Mores and moral guardrails are shifting all the time, and now they are shifting much more rapidly.
I try to hold onto my long-held beliefs and mores regarding being a good person but in living in this present world, I have to judge my past more harshly than I feel comfortable doing. But I was a jerk, and I can accept that now and try to be better.
It’s hard for people in general to judge their previous selves harshly and to adjust to the here and now.
My fear is that horrible and abusive behavior and attitudes become the new norm. I see that happening.

I have to watch my comment count (close to the ban threshold),
but I'll say that what others do shouldn't be such an issue. When we let it get one, politicians seize it and it gets big. But then it's not about what others do then, it's about who are the "others". Very different vibe
