Good Morning Bob + fellow listeners
No offense to anyone, but I would never request a song or an artist be played by Bob. I’m a huge music fan with thousands of records and CDs. Despite all that, in the 40+ years I’ve been listening to Bob, he’s turned me on to many wonderful sounds. That’s part of the magic of what he does. I’m not putting in any requests. I want to be surprised!
Thanks Bob!

Those first 2 dB’s albums were real stand-out pieces of art. Smarter than the rest of the class by quite a lot; they have a kind of literary value, even while being the synthesis of all the great ridiculous teen heartache dilemmas ever pressed to vinyl

I’d cling to that moment myself, Franco. Like a speed-date with Barbara Feldon!

checking-In; couldn’t resist- this had been so exciting to hear a complete scan overview! (Including some collectibles). The production on those first 2 albums were so special & unique. & despite loving it ALL (including comps & odds & ends) never sounded as distinctive again. Kept as many of my vinyls as originally found.
- Incl a few 7”ers. Note: always loved Stamey’s 1st solo album “Wonderful
Life”. On & On, etc.

Thanks Paul, I’ll check that out later….something tells me it’s gonna hurt :)

I had been so stoked to finally get to a 3rd dB’s album (Like This) and was a bit startled by its polished production sound. (Yet still found its way inside the pleasure centers). Thanks again for this Bob.

Glad that you allotted 1 & 1/2 hours to the dBs, Bob. Their music was mostly unknown to me. Thanks to Franco Twinkie, now I know why—I rarely had any girlfriends to argue with. (Although I did have one named Jill for a short time.)

Def hit Rocks in yer Head a few times on my shopping trips. Nothing quite as mind blowing as 99Records short run as a retail store.
- what was the name of that shortish lived collectors oddball euro-centric shop that wasn’t too far from the original knitting factory (Oblique?) - man that guy had done wild imports !

- I believe closed suddenly due to addiction issues. (?!) sigh. 😔
