I remember those turntables from my grammar school days: do you remember those suitcases with speaker in the cover, and it detaches? One of those things that you roll your eyes at as a pre-teen and much later you realize... okay that's actually great design!@

i remember (now) the screws and the holes on the speakers, and the speed control next to the platter. i think it had to be westinghouse; buit the tone arm was MUCH bigger, and it had a red light that gently glowed when it was on, shaped like an old cherry-top police light! i forget where it was.

i gave that thing away! when i was breaking up with my best friend, when i was ~11.
