I called Mike and Pat’s apartment at 917 Willow “the Cave, originally Pat before Mike moved from LA and then both as the Caveman. They only had a rotary phone, no internet, no cable and not even a shower. It was a hand held tube as a shower in the bathtub. My brother later moved into Pat’s room and suddenly they had cable etc. The name stuck. He will be missed forever.

@ Todd I appreciate you sharing about your mother and the final days you had with her. I too lost my mom recently. Though she couldn’t talk, we believed she could hear us. She could squeeze our hands. Those last moments are precious however painful.
May your mom rest in peace.

So sorry Todd to hear about your Mom’s passing….and Caveman. My Mom passed 10 years ago of emphysema. My Dad passed 6 years ago of Alzheimer’s. I took care of Dad for 4 yrs until his passing. When I would ask him “do you know who I am?” He would say Friend. He was the 1st Family member that was dying(hospice at home), while still alive. He was on a liquid diet that last month. The weekend before his passing he gave me a glimpse of Heaven as he went through “the light tunnel.” And he also knew who I was. What a beautiful gift that he left with me! Tears are running down my face now because I miss him and my Mom.
No matter how old we get, when our Parents pass, we feel like an orphan abandoned. It’s the hardest part of life because they gave us life and loved us so much.
Many Condolences Hugs for your heart Todd!!… we all “love” you. Keep her in your heart she is now your Angel.

Heya Pal. Late 90s, Fu Manchiu at Maxwells. Mike jumped on my back and we took over the floor. It was going great until we got knockled over and we landed on an empty Bud bottle and I had to leave the show to get stitches. But it was fun, we were young and I'll never forget it.

Rest easy Mike.

Roll me over and set me free, the cowboys life is the life for me.
