Obscure musical gems, avant experimentation, and classics worth rehearing. A conurbation of Leslie speakers, timbales, plungers, arch-tops, tablas, and squeaky reeds. Black ties, pork pies, Cuban boots, Nudie suits, bobbysocks, turtlenecks, and high-heeled sneakers. Jazz is the north star but it’s a wide universe, so says The Laughing Clock.

Who knew that DJs and Chief Justices have a penchant for baseball metaphor?

I thought everyone knew that Dean. Thanks for making the trip over.

HI-I wound up on another playlist (and posted there), had a nautical photo done by Mrs. DJP, took a while to figure there must be another page (as I was the only poster, and no tracks were being listed). Hi all!

Hi Doc! Glad you diagnosed the problem. The wife is in Bermuda, hence the blue blue skies and blue green water today and tomorrow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm

DJ Peter, does that clock in the photo show which way the wind blows?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm
DJ Peter:

↳ adamdoesit @2:26
I think so! But as with many public clocks, who is to say if it's working. You know what Dylan said: you don't need a clock tower to know which way the wind blows!

Again: now you know how the Clock feels...

I really love this band. I mean, of course Clifford Brown and Booker Little are more notorious.

Max's politics are fully integrated into his music by this point. (Bridgewater's composition here inspired by the Scottsboro Boys)

WE went to see BassDrumBone a few years back at the Zurcher Museum in NYC. I've heard them do stuff that was not-too-far out post bop, didn't quite know what to expect. They played a very "out" set. The space sas small-maybe 20 frold out seats in 2 rows. MsJazz was dying! We were riight in front of the band, she had to pretend to be listening, To make matters worse, the first set went over so well with the audience that they played an UNSCHEDULED 2nd set(it was a great show btw)
