I remember many years ago a guitarist friend of mine Keith McGee from the band Glass Mountain (Port Jervis,NY), popped into the bar I worked at, on returning from a trip to VT, where he was gushing about watching this band rehearsing in a barn up there. My first brush with Ruins was on a cassette comp called Eat Shit Noise Music (an astonishing track called Cambodia)...I didn't expect zuehl would become associated with anything on that at the time.
